Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Experiences Team. You will help build and maintain foundational services and SDKs powering Speechify across platforms, shaping product experience with scalable APIs and robust systems.

Ideal candidates think strategically, value end-to-end design, and enjoy collaborating with designers, marketers, and PMs in a fast-growing, remote startup. Kotlin Multiplatform expertise and optional GCP experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Able to design end-to-end systems with emphasis on simplicity and reliability.
• Demonstrates fast decision-making to ship features for feedback.
• Maintains focus in a fast-paced, remote startup environment.
• Collaborates effectively with designers, marketers, and PMs.
• Proficient with Kotlin Multiplatform; experience with Kotlin preferred.
• GCP experience is a plus for cloud-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects and balance UX tradeoffs for cross-platform SDKs.
• Improve algorithms and abstractions to enable faster loading and smarter parsing.
• Ship cloud functions and lightweight backend services using Kotlin.
