Job summary

Maya is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain backend services in Go that power our Core Platforms and APIs. You will collaborate with the Product Owner and team to translate business requirements into robust features and deliver production-ready code.

You will contribute to code quality through peer reviews and automated tests, while staying current with new technologies to improve operational efficiency and support the business direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / IT / CE or related field.
• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong experience with RESTful services in Golang.
• Proficient in OOP and design patterns.
• Experience with relational and distributed databases.
• Git version control familiarity.
• CI/CD knowledge and AWS experience.
• Agile/Scrum development experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Product Owner and team to refine requirements with clear acceptance criteria.
• Develops defined system features and produces production-ready code.

The Senior Software Engineer designs, builds, and maintains reliable, secure, and scalable backend services using Golang that power the organization's Core Platforms and common APIs. Working closely with the Product Owner and the team, the role turns business requirements into well-tested, production-ready features, contributes to code quality through peer reviews, and takes an active part in resolving production incidents. The role also keeps up with new technologies and platforms to improve operational efficiency and support the business direction.

NATURE OF WORK

• Works closely with Product Owner and Team to refine requirements and break requests to manageable size with clear acceptance criteria
• Develops defined system features
• Investigates and fixes reported bugs
• Writes automated tests
• Performs code reviews
• Research and acquire new technology and products/platforms knowledge to support business direction and improve operational efficiency
• Communicates progress
• Identifies blocking issues and escalates as appropriate

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's or College Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Engineering or any related course
• At least 5 years of related work experience
• Strong experience in developing RESTful web services using Golang
• Strong experience of OOP and software design patterns
• Strong experience of relational and distributed database systems
• Good working knowledge of version control tools (eg. git)
• Working knowledge in the effective use and customization of Continuous Integration and Delivery technology stack
• Working knowledge of Amazon Web Serivces (AWS)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodology
