Job summary

Outsourcey is seeking a product engineer to own the application and platform stack, focusing on ASP.NET Core APIs, React/TypeScript front-ends, and PostgreSQL data. You’ll collaborate across web, mobile, and backend services, contribute to authentication and production workflows, and help modernise the platform, including Flutter components.

You’ll work across the stack, with emphasis on building robust APIs, modern web interfaces, and reliable automation.

• Good relational database and SQL fundamentals
• Experience with PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database
• Automated testing experience

• Experience operating software in a cloud environment
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Ability to navigate and improve an established production codebase
• Ability to make pragmatic engineering trade-offs without unnecessary rewrites
• Flutter experience is valuable but not required
• If you have Flutter, Dart, React Native or cross‑platform stacks, that’s useful

Profile Requirements:

• We're looking for a strong product engineer rather than someone specialised in a narrow layer of the stack.
• You should be comfortable taking a feature or problem from investigation through implementation and production.

• Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can own problems rather than just tickets.
• Flutter
• Flutter experience is valuable, but it is not a prerequisite for this role.
• If you're a strong .NET/React engineer who has worked with Flutter, Dart, React Native, native mobile development or another cross-platform application stack, that's useful.
• If you haven't, you should be comfortable learning enough Flutter to contribute to ordinary application functionality.
• The specialist native iOS/Android and Bluetooth work will primarily be owned by another engineer.

Core responsibilities:

Your primary area of ownership will be the application and platform stack:

• ASP.NET Core APIs and backend services
• React / TypeScript web applications
• PostgreSQL and application data
• Integration between web, mobile and backend services
• Authentication, APIs and application services
• Automated testing
• CI/CD and production releases
• Production monitoring, debugging and reliability

You'll also work with our Flutter application.

• We don't expect you to be a native mobile or Bluetooth specialist — that's a complementary role within the team. We do want someone comfortable working across boundaries and willing to contribute to Flutter application code, APIs and shared product functionality.
• The initial mission
• The backend currently runs on .NET 8, the React application is reasonably current, and our GCP infrastructure and deployments are automated.
• The biggest modernisation challenge is in mobile, but bringing the complete product back into active production requires work across the stack.

Initially you'll help us:

• Assess the existing application and identify upgrade risks
• Update dependencies and supporting services where required
• Validate APIs and integrations against the modernised mobile applications
• Improve automated tests around critical product workflows
• Restore and validate end-to-end development and release workflows
• Investigate and fix production issues uncovered during rehabilitation
• Improve observability and operational reliability
• Remove technical debt where it materially improves our ability to develop the product
• Support the mobile engineer as the Flutter/native stack is modernised
• Help take the complete platform back through production release
