UnionBank is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead hands-on development of mobile and web applications, contributing to solution architecture and design decisions. You will support delivery teams by ensuring scalable, well‑designed technical solutions aligned with business needs.

In this role you will design architecture, collaborate across product teams, implement security measures, maintain code integrity, and document software.

Qualifications

• Experience in iOS and Android development with cross‑platform options.
• At least 3 years front‑end development (mobile or web).
• At least 3 years back‑end programming languages (PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, .NET, JS).
• Experience with HTML/JS/CSS and SQL databases (MySQL).
• Proficient with vanilla JS and frameworks like AngularJS/ReactJS.
• Familiar with smart contracts and blockchain platforms (Ethereum/Hyperledger/Corda).
• Familiar with agile development concepts (Scrum/Kanban) and CI/CD.

About The Role

The Senior Software Engineer reports to the Tech Delivery Lead and is primarily responsible for hands‑on development of mobile and web applications. It performs the core development work while contributing inputs to solution architecture, design decisions, and user story effort estimates. The position supports delivery teams by ensuring technical solutions are well‑designed, scalable, and aligned with business requirements.

What You’ll Do

Designing overall architecture of applications:

• Designing, building and developing applications for customers
• Collaborating and contributing to cross-functional teams that develop solutions for clients
• Participating in the architecture and system design of mobile applications
• Being a part of an open environment where everyone is expected to speak up and collaborate in project and organizational decisions
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection
• Maintain code integrity and organization
• Supply sufficient documentation on software developed
• API and backend integration

Coordinates with the different product development teams to ensure that:

• user stories and other agreed requirements are delivered on‑time and on‑budget;
• Evaluate issues/bugs reported and provide root-cause analysis, impact analysis and recommend solutions and workarounds in coordination with the development team, and product owner;
• Automated testing to ensure code robustness including edge-cases usability and general reliability
• Be up-to-date with the latest developments, standards, and benchmarks for web applications development
• Participate in various informational sessions and workshops as a participant or instructor upon request

What We’re Looking For

• Experienced in IOS, Android Development, and hybrid development options like Xamarin, Flutter, ReactNative
• Experienced with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, MySQL, SQL (atleast 3 years)
• Experienced with front-end development either mobile or web applications (atleast 3years)
• Experienced with back-end programming languages like PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, .NET, JavaScript etc. (atleast 3years)
• Experience in using vanilla and advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as AngularJS, ReactJS, etc. (atleast 3 years)
• Familiarity or experience in programming smart contracts and chain code in Ethereum, Hyperledger or Corda
• Familiar with agile development concepts (Scrum / Kanban); user stories estimation, design, and CI/CD
