Job summary

Maya is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain secure, scalable payment and settlement platforms. You will independently drive technical initiatives, mentor peers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while leveraging AI-assisted tools to improve delivery and quality.

You will design and implement backend services, ensure compliance, and lead medium-to-large engineering efforts across payment channels, settlement, and integrations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience in enterprise or mission-critical systems.
• Strong expertise in Java, Kotlin, JVM-based technologies, OR TypeScript/Node.js.
• Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and Kafka or similar technologies.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases, cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support backend services and payment platforms.
• Deliver secure, scalable, fault-tolerant, and compliant solutions aligned with business and platform requirements
• Lead medium to large engineering initiatives, manage technical dependencies, and collaborate with Product, Business, Risk, Compliance, and Engineering teams.
