Job summary

NetApp, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Development Engineer to design, develop, and enhance security capabilities across ONTAP's storage ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Experience with security assessment methodologies and tools (static/dynamic analysis, fuzzing, CVE triage).
• Experience conducting red-team or vulnerability research on systems or products, documenting findings and remediation guidance.
• Proven track record building security automation, vulnerability assessment workflows, or automated security test frameworks.
• Strong debugging skills using GDB, DTrace, packet analyzers, and Linux/Unix development tools.
• Experience in authentication/identity management, TLS/mTLS, PKI, cryptography, and secure software development lifecycle (SDL).
• Ability to collaborate across systems, networking, storage, cloud, and product security teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security features including authentication, authorization, TLS/mTLS, PKI, and cryptographic services.
• Develop AI-assisted security automation for vulnerability discovery, triage, detection, remediation, and security response.
• Conduct security architecture reviews, threat modeling, risk assessments, and attack-tree analyses.
• Translate security findings into product requirements and automated tests; drive remediation and release readiness.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence across the organization.
