Job summary

CACTUS provides expert language editing services to help researchers publish their work. As an Editor, you will evaluate manuscripts, ensure scientific accuracy, and enhance language clarity across disciplines.

You will work with a flexible schedule on manuscripts for global journals, leveraging your PhD expertise and strong publication record to improve communication of research findings.

Qualifications

• PhD degree in one or more specialized subject areas (mandatory).
• Strong publication record with 5–10+ first-author publications (mandatory).
• Ability to critically assess study design, methodology, statistics, and interpretation.
• Excellent written English and attention to detail.
• Prior experience in scientific editing or academic publishing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and edit manuscripts to improve clarity, coherence, and readability while preserving the authors’ intended meaning.
• Ensure that subject-specific terminology, conventions, and scientific arguments are accurate, consistent, and appropriate for the target audience.
• Improve the presentation of complex research findings to enhance their communication and publication readiness.
• Edit manuscripts such that the final text meets the highest standards of academic writing, adherent to journal guidelines.
