Billennium seeks a Senior SAP Indirect Tax Consultant to own SAP tax solutions across SAP S/4HANA, FICO, SD and MM. You will bridge business, IT and tax, handling tax determination, external engine integrations (ONESOURCE, Sovos), and statutory reporting including SAF-T and e-invoicing.

We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP Indirect Tax Consultant to join an international ERP & Business Solutions environment and take ownership of SAP tax-related solutions across SAP S/4HANA, FICO, SD and MM.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between business, IT and tax, translating complex tax and statutory requirements into robust SAP solutions. You will work on tax determination, SAP and external tax engine integration, statutory reporting and e-invoicing, while supporting end-to-end implementation and testing activities.
The role is particularly focused on Indirect Tax (VAT/GST) in Germany and other EU countries, with opportunities to work with solutions such as SAP DRC, ONESOURCE and Sovos.
Analyze business and tax requirements and design automated tax determination solutions in SAP S/4HANA, including condition technique.
Configure and support tax-related processes across FI, SD and MM, ensuring consistent tax treatment across the end-to-end supply chain.
Manage and support integrations between SAP and external tax engines, such as ONESOURCE or Sovos, for real-time tax rate and calculation determination.
Support the technical implementation of statutory and digital reporting requirements, including SAF-T, real-time reporting and e-invoicing.
Translate complex tax legislation and business requirements into clear functional specifications and SAP solutions.
Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, tax experts and IT teams.
Lead and coordinate tax-related Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Investigate and resolve complex issues related to incorrect tax calculations, failed interfaces and high-volume transaction processing.
Troubleshoot issues related to e-invoice submissions and government reporting interfaces.
Support SAP tax and statutory requirements across Germany and other EU countries.
Collaborate with technical teams and use ABAP debugging where required to identify and resolve complex tax calculation or interface issues.
Contribute to continuous improvement of SAP tax processes, configurations and integrations.
5+ years of experience in SAP FICO implementation, with strong expertise in SAP Tax.
Proven experience with at least 2 full lifecycle SAP implementations.
Strong hands-on knowledge of SAP FI, with solid understanding of integration with CO, SD and MM.
Strong experience with SAP Indirect Tax, particularly VAT/GST.
Proven knowledge of tax and statutory requirements in Germany and other EU countries – mandatory.
Experience with SAP S/4HANA in tax-related implementations or transformation projects.
Good understanding of SAP DRC (Document and Reporting Compliance) is highly preferred.
Experience with external tax engines such as ONESOURCE or Sovos is a strong advantage.
Understanding of e-invoicing, SAF-T and digital/statutory reporting requirements.
ABAP debugging skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex tax calculation and interface issues are preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
Fluent English – written and spoken.
Good command of German is preferred.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
