Senior QA Engineer

Responsible for quality assuring and maintaining enterprise-level applications for post-trade affirmation and confirmation workflows including real-time message processing. The role involves executing manual tests with a progression towards automated testing. Experience in advancing a manual test capability to automation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Define and produce resilient test frameworks to quality assure code before deployment to production.
• Provide L3 support for deployment and investigation of production issues.
• Follow SAFe agile methodology and participate in agile ceremonies and processes.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Collaborate with architecture and DevOps teams to follow guidelines and implementations.
• Adhere to standard SDLC processes and design patterns for development guidelines.

Essential Experience & Competencies

• Multiple years of professional experience in global financial services including messaging, trade confirmations, clearing, STP, and 3rd party messaging vendor integrations (e.g., Markitwire, ICELink, LCH).
• Proven expertise in server‑side Java design and development within banking and trading environments.
• Advanced proficiency in testing messaging workflows – MQ, XML, FIXML.
• Hands‑on experience with FIX Protocol and FIX engines (e.g., QFJ, Rapid Addition, UlBridge) in FX/Credit/Commodities trading environments.
• Working knowledge of Solace messaging middleware.
• Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS (EC2/EKS).
• Proficiency with Jenkins and GitLab for deployment and continuous integration.
• Strong Linux administration and command line skills.
• SQL experience and database management.
• Experience with JUnit and related unit testing frameworks.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities, strong attention to detail, outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in Agile development methodologies (SAFe/Scrum).

• Deep understanding of FX/Credit/Commodities products and financial instruments.
