Job summary

A global leader in testing and inspection is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the design, implementation, and oversight of MEPF systems for large-scale construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of local building codes and have a Bachelor's degree in engineering. Responsibilities include overseeing installations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and preparing project documentation. Job description
Job Purpose:

To lead and oversee the design, coordination, and implementation of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEPF) systems for large-scale construction projects. This role involves ensuring compliance with local building codes, industry standards, and Bureau Veritas' quality and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Engineering:
    • Develop comprehensive MEPF system designs, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems.
    • Conduct load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing.
    • Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
    • Coordinate with architectural and structural engineers to ensure seamless integration of MEPF systems.
  • Construction Oversight:
    • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of MEPF systems.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
    • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.
  • Quality Assurance and Control:
    • Implement quality control procedures to verify compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
    • Conduct inspections and tests to ensure the quality of materials, workmanship, and system performance.
    • Identify and resolve quality issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Prioritize safety on construction sites, enforcing safety protocols and regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with local building codes, fire codes, and other relevant regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Cost Control:
    • Monitor project costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Prepare and review cost estimates and budget forecasts.Manage change orders and variations to the contract.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Prepare detailed engineering reports, technical documents, and project status reports.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
    • Participate in project meetings and presentations.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in MEPF engineering, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of local building codes, fire codes, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Additional Considerations:
  • Experience in high‑rise building construction and complex infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bureau Veritas' quality management systems and procedures is advantageous.
  • A strong understanding of sustainable design principles and energy‑efficient systems is desirable.
