Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology.
• Current PRC license as Registered Medical Technologist (RMT).
• At least 2 years of work experience in a primary laboratory (excluding internship).
• Biosafety training and drug testing certification required.
• PAMET membership or biosafety training is an advantage.
• Proficient in clinical laboratory procedures, equipment, and instrumentation.
• Proficient in LIS and basic computer skills (MS Word/Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains confidentiality of patient records and information at all times.
• Performs a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, microscopy, chemistry.
• Executes universal standard precautions in specimen handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of test results.
• Follows established protocols and adheres to laboratory safety and infection control protocols.
• Conducts regular internal quality control checks on equipment, reagents, consumables, and instruments.
• Evaluates test results, flags abnormalities, and escalates to healthcare providers as needed.
• Maintains accurate records of tests performed and results obtained.
• Monitors inventory of consumables and reagents and manages reorder points.
• Prepares monthly purchase requests for supplies/consumables replenishment.
• Monitors preventive maintenance schedules and escalates issues requiring external service.
• Receives endorsements from previous shift and prepares handover to next shift.
• Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory space.
• Stays abreast with advances in laboratory technology and maintains licensure.
• Assists Clinic Operations Manager in preparing all DOH documents for regulatory compliance.
• Participates in external proficiency testing programs (NEQAS).
