Job summary

MicroSourcing International is seeking a Senior Medical Coder to validate AI-generated CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM data and ensure accurate medical coding for claims. This work-from-home night-shift role offers competitive rewards and day-one healthcare coverage.

You will review coding guidelines, identify data anomalies, and provide feedback to AI systems, while staying current on US payer rules. Collaboration with clinical and product teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
• AAPC CPC or AHIMA CCS-P/CCS certification is required.
• Minimum 5 years healthcare experience with at least 3 years in medical coding, chart review, auditing or abstraction.
• Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS coding conventions, translating clinical documentation into codes.
• Familiarity with US health insurance payers (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, third-party claims).
• Strong medical terminology and human anatomy knowledge.
• Familiarity with AI-driven tools such as CAC or NLP platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

• Review and validate AI-generated CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM data and other claims data elements.
• Verify coding guidelines and data extracts from AI to ensure accuracy.
• Identify AI data extract anomalies or defects.
• Provide accurate and timely feedback to AI to improve model performance.
• Stay informed on medical coding and billing regulatory changes.
• Contribute to development of coding guidelines for AI-assisted workflows.
• Validate criteria for policy or rule applicability.
• Serve as SME in cross-functional teams with Clinical, Technical, and Product stakeholders.

Summary

• Participate in the development of coding guidelines for AI-assisted workflows.
• Validate criteria for policy or rule suitability.
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in cross-functional team with Clinical, technical, and product stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Active American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certified Professional Coders (CPC) certification or American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant healthcare experience, including at least 3 years in medical coding, chart review, auditing, or abstraction. Must demonstrate proficiency in applying CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding conventions, including translating clinical documentation into appropriate codes.
• Understanding of US health insurance payers including Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid (FFS and MCOs), third-party claims processing (including paper & EDI processes)
• Strong grasp of medical terminology and human anatomy
• Familiarity with AI-driven tools such as Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC) or Natural Language Process (NLP) platforms
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications
