About the role
The Senior Manager, Medical Affairs leads regional medical strategy and execution for Aeira's portfolio. This role owns scientific engagement, KOL networks and evidence-generation programmes that support product adoption, appropriate use and long-term market development across SEA. This role plays a key part in shaping the regional medical presence — working closely with the VP, Strategy & Market Access and wider leadership team on KOL engagement, evidence strategy and scientific engagement, as the team and portfolio grow.
Key responsibilities
- Develop regional medical strategies aligned with product lifecycle, clinical evidence, regulatory and commercialization plans.
- Partner with Commercial, Market Access and Regulatory teams to build country-specific medical launch plans and ensure scientific readiness ahead of launch.
- Maintain working familiarity with key hospital and account dynamics that inform medical engagement planning.
- Identify, map and build relationships with key opinion leaders, clinical experts and scientific societies across SEA.
- Personally lead field-based KOL and HCP engagement across SEA markets, with the expectation of helping build and, over time, oversee a regional MSL team as the function scales.
- Develop and oversee scientific education programmes, advisory boards, symposia and other non-promotional medical activities.
- Establish structured mechanisms to collect, analyze and communicate insights from KOLs, HCPs and the clinical community to inform strategy.
- Identify and lead IITs, RWE, registries and other local evidence-generation programmes to address clinical and market-access evidence gaps.
- Provide medical oversight for Named Patient Programmes, early/special-access programmes and pre-launch activities.
- Support development and review of medical/scientific materials, publications, congress activities and responses to unsolicited medical enquiries.
About you
- 8+ years in Medical Affairs, clinical development or medical strategy within pharmaceutical or biotech companies, including experience managing scientific engagement independently or with minimal oversight.
- Medical or scientific background — MD, PharmD, PhD or equivalent preferred.
- Experience with innovative medicines/biologics, ideally in specialty care, immunology, oncology or other hospital/specialist-driven products.
- Strong understanding of SEA healthcare systems and clinical/KOL networks; familiarity with regulatory/HTA bodies across SEA markets is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in KOL engagement, advisory boards, IITs and/or RWE.
- Experience supporting NPP, early-access or pre-launch programmes is highly desirable.
- Comfort contributing to medical affairs processes and structures in a lean, early-stage environment.
- Strong scientific communication and executive presentation capabilities, with a track record of building trust with KOLs, HCPs and internal leadership quickly.
- Sound judgment and comfort operating with a degree of autonomy, while working closely with leadership as the regional medical function develops.
- Willingness to travel across SEA markets for KOL and HCP engagement.
