Elastic is seeking a Senior Security Research Engineer to advance the Elastic Security Labs mission. You will reverse engineer malware across Windows, macOS, and Linux, uncover adversary techniques, and publish actionable findings to help protect customers.

You will operate at scale on data from millions of endpoints, author signatures, and build automation and AI-assisted workflows that accelerate the next investigation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience reverse engineering malware and researching adversary tradecraft.
• Python development experience for research tooling and automation; ability to read C/C++.
• YARA authorship and hunting at scale across large telemetry datasets.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineer malware across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Operate global data systems to identify and mitigate threats.
• Turn discoveries into shipped protections and scalable tooling.
• Build your public research reputation through Elastic Security Labs and public repos.
• Collaborate across Elastic Security on shared threat intelligence and detection projects.
• Help lead the team's technical direction and mentor researchers.
