Job summary

NACBA is seeking a capable Internal Audit professional to perform internal reviews of financial, operational, and IT processes, identify control exceptions, and develop actionable recommendations for improvement.

The role involves planning and executing complex audit programs, evaluating control design and effectiveness, and communicating findings to senior management and the Audit Committee. Strong communication and project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or related field.
• CISA certification preferred for this position.
• 5–7 years of experience in Public Accounting or Internal Audit.
• Exposure to IT Controls, Systems Audit, Financial and Business Controls Audit.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, COSO, COBIT and risk assessment practices.

Responsibilities

• Participates in complex audit programs and may perform routine assignments independently.
• Plans for large scale audit projects and ensures timely completion.
• Evaluates internal controls design and effectiveness; documents results in work papers and reports.
• Analyses root causes and helps develop remediation plans for control deficiencies.
• Uses data analytics to increase testing coverage and ensure quality audit results.
• Coordinates with external auditors to discuss findings and controls.
• Engages in ad hoc projects including technology system re-engineering and fraud assessments.
• Performs pre/post System implementation reviews in support of financial systems.
• Maintains relationships with stakeholders and leadership; communicates findings to management.
• Upholds the Crawford Code of Conduct.
