Jobtailor in the Philippines seeks a senior Python data engineer to build backend data pipelines and self-service applications, replacing 40+ Alteryx Gallery apps for five internal teams You will design Snowflake workflows, integrate REST APIs, and work across Python backend and HTML/JS frontend, using Claude as a co-author.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Python development with pandas, requests, openpyxl, and regex
• Solid Snowflake SQL with joins, CTEs, window functions, and DML
• Design data pipelines from scratch; batch vs event-driven processing
• REST API experience with OAuth2, pagination, and JSON/XML parsing
• Full-stack capability with Python backend and HTML/JS frontend
• Hands-on AWS data pipeline architecture using Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, ECS/EC2, S3, Secrets Manager, EventBridge
• Experience using LLMs as active co-authors (Claude, Copilot, GPT-4)
• Agentic coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Devin
• Reverse-engineer undocumented legacy workflows and reproduce outputs
• Git proficiency with branching, PRs, and versioned releases
• Production-scale pipelines serving multiple consumers with SLA

Job description

• Develop backend data pipelines and self-service application layers
• Build Python pipelines and Snowflake workflows
• Integrate REST APIs
• Develop web-based self-service applications replacing 40+ Alteryx Gallery applications used by five internal teams
• Work across backend and frontend components using Python and HTML/JavaScript
• Use Claude (Anthropic) as an active co-author throughout code generation, agentic task execution, architectural review, and documentation
• Design data pipeline architectures from scratch and select appropriate processing models and AWS services
• Reverse-engineer undocumented legacy workflows and reproduce their outputs exactly
• Own and debug production-scale pipelines with scheduled execution and SLA implications
• Collaborate within a lean team operating against a hard deadline

Requirements

• 7+ years of Python development using pandas, requests, openpyxl, and regex as daily tools; ability to own a production codebase end to end
• Solid Snowflake SQL, including joins, CTEs, window functions, and write operations (INSERT, MERGE, TRUNCATE/INSERT)
• Proven ability to design a data pipeline from scratch, choose batch versus event-driven processing, select appropriate AWS services, and defend architecture decisions adopted by a team
• REST API experience with OAuth2, pagination, rate limiting, and JSON/XML parsing
• Full-stack capability with a Python backend (Flask or FastAPI) and HTML/JS frontend; ability to build and ship a working web application end to end
• Hands-on AWS data pipeline architecture experience selecting and configuring Lambda, Step Functions or Glue, ECS/Fargate or EC2, S3, Secrets Manager, and EventBridge
• Demonstrated production experience using LLMs such as Claude, Copilot, GPT-4, or equivalent as active co-authors
• Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Devin, or similar
• Ability to reverse-engineer undocumented legacy workflows and reproduce their output exactly in a new stack
• Git proficiency, including branching, PRs, and versioned releases
• Production-scale pipeline experience serving multiple consumers on a defined schedule with SLA implications and production debugging experience
• Strong plus: Microsoft Graph API experience with SharePoint file writes, list operations, and email dispatch
• Strong plus: Snowflake architecture experience, including table structures, roles and grants, compute sizing, cloning, or time travel
• Strong plus: experience building self-service data tools or internal operations tooling for non-technical users
• Strong plus: familiarity with Alteryx Designer
• Strong plus: workflow orchestration experience with Airflow, Prefect, or AWS Step Functions, including production DAGs with dependencies, retry logic, and failure alerting
