Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a senior electrical engineer in Manila to lead substation secondary design, develop protection schemes, and produce compliant engineering deliverables for international clients.

You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, apply EU/International standards, use CAD and ETAP for models, and ensure timely, quality documentation from concept to as-builts.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years’ experience in substation secondary design.
• Consulting experience on EU Energy Transition projects preferred.
• Experience with CAD documentation to EU/international standards.
• Experience from concept to As-Builts for substations.
• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication.
• Strong mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering deliverables including reports, proposals, presentations, and drawing packages.
• Design protection coordination and developing tripping schemes.
• Prepare document and drawing package for the appropriate project design submission stage.
• Liaise with other disciplines and ensure all requirements are understood.
• Deliver fully documented designs to meet client objectives and Arcadis quality system requirements.

Overall Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables including complex reports, proposals, presentations, and drawing packages.
• HV transmission and distribution substations secondary systems electrical design: protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, protection and control room layout, IED selection.
• Conducting protection coordination and developing tripping schemes.
• Taking personal responsibility for the preparation of detailed engineering documentation and leading the engineering effort for project including providing technical and performance oversight for team members.
• To manage selected projects, project task/responsibilities as assigned, and/or design processes (or parts of projects) to meet agreed budget, quality, and timeframe targets.
• To deliver fully documented designs to meet Client objectives and ARCADIS quality system requirements.
• Ensure application of relevant international / EU standards and engineering knowledge in various projects.

Technical Responsibilities

• Apply engineering knowledge, techniques and tools complying with international design standards and EU Codes & Standards relevant to assigned project.
• Prepare document and drawing package for the appropriate project design submission stage complying with codes and standards and delivering the design with high quality.
• Conduct internal review and quality checks of engineering drawings and design calculations to ensure compliance with the project's requirements.
• Prepare and register all relevant documentation and design reports and ensure all documentation is accurate and in compliance with the Arcadis and customer requirements.
• Liaise with other disciplines and ensure all requirements are understood.
• Understanding scope and change in scope when it arises.
• Use software packages as required for the design and delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 4 years’ experience in substation secondary design, preferably in a consulting environment.
• Consulting experience in EU Energy Transition projects is preferred.
• Experience in CAD documentation to EU Energy standards and other international standards.
• Experience in substation processes from concept stage to construction and As-Builts.
• Bachelor Degree of Technology / Science in Electrical Engineering from recognized University.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations.
• Organizational skills and proactive approach in project management.
• Ability to provide solutions to technical problems.
• Actively continue to develop technical knowledge and new emerging technology.
• The ability to develop complex models in ETAP and conduct protection coordination.
• At least 2 years’ experience in design & drafting electrical infrastructure in EU, general familiarity with the electricity supply industry, electricity transmission and distribution practices and related topics.
• Computational design, design algorithms and automation of data manipulation.

OTHERS

• Liaise with Arcadis lead offices representatives and other consultants as appropriate to the project.
• Working to achieve project delivery on time to budget and to a high standard meeting Client expectation.
• Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality and cost-effective work
• Plan, coordinate and mentor junior engineers.
• Take responsibility for defined tasks within prescribed limits.
• Gain experience and proficiency in Arcadis’ systems and procedures.
• Become familiar and compliant with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.
