Job Summary:
The Senior Electronics Design Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, testing, validation, and continuous improvement of electronic circuits, systems, and PCBA solutions. The role involves translating product and technical requirements into robust and manufacturable electronic designs, from specification and schematic capture through prototyping, testing, validation, and production release.
He or she will will provide technical leadership on complex projects, troubleshoot and resolve design issues, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers. The position requires strong expertise in digital and analog electronics, embedded systems, PCB design, RF, and electronic testing, with a strong focus on product performance, reliability, manufacturability, quality, and cost.
Job Details
- Design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits, systems, and PCB assemblies.
- Develop electronic specifications, schematics, component libraries, BOMs, PCB layouts, and PCBA documentation.
- Generate and maintain Gerber files, placement files, PCB stack-up, 3D STEP files, assembly instructions, and test instructions.
- Develop and validate prototypes through simulation, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
- Design and troubleshoot low-power DC/DC converters, linear regulators, and portable electronic devices.
- Work with 8–32-bit MCUs, ARM Cortex-M0 to M4, and associated peripherals.
- Support Cortex-A processors and high-speed interfaces, including SDRAM, Flash, USB, MIPI, and Ethernet.
- Support hardware/software integration using C/C++.
- Perform RF design, prototype tuning/adaptation, and RF testing.
- Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, electronic loads, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and soldering/rework tools.
- Collaborate with Product Design, Firmware/Software, Manufacturing, Quality, Test, and other engineering teams.
- Support DFM/DFA/DFT, prototype builds, production transfer, and manufacturing troubleshooting.
- Ensure designs meet applicable quality, safety, customer, and industry requirements.
- Lead technical problem-solving activities and provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of electronic designs, processes, and engineering standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or equivalent course.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electronics design and development.
- Strong experience in analog and digital circuit design, schematic capture, component selection, PCB design, and PCBA development.
- Proficient in Altium Designer or equivalent PCB/electronics CAD software.
- Strong knowledge of MCUs, ARM Cortex-M0 to M4, Cortex-A processors, and high-speed digital interfaces.
- Knowledge of RF design, RF tuning/adaptation, and RF testing.
- Knowledge of low‑power DC/DC converters and linear regulators.
- Working knowledge of C/C++ and embedded systems.
- Hands‑on experience with standard electronics laboratory and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Good communication and technical leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional and international teams.
