Job summary

Arch Investment Management Ltd. (AIML), based in Bermuda and part of Arch Capital Group Ltd., is seeking a senior data engineer to own and scale its data platform underpinning systematic credit strategies.

You will ingest data from ICE, Bloomberg, LSEG, and others, collaborate with quant researchers, and raise the technical bar across the team. You will architect pipelines, implement governance, and contribute to production APIs (FastAPI) while promoting CI/CD and robust observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering with production-grade data platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms.
• Experience designing ETL/data pipeline architecture at scale across DEV/STAGE/PROD.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and observability/monitoring for production systems.
• Familiarity building or supporting backend APIs (FastAPI or equivalent).
• Experience with data quality assurance, including non-regression testing and data validation frameworks.
• Strong communicator and collaborator, able to work independently and align solutions with investment workflows.

Responsibilities

• Platform ownership: Architect, build, and own production data pipelines and storage systems ingesting large-scale financial datasets.
• Data governance: Own in-house data and embed governance across the pipeline lifecycle with documentation.
• API & service design: Contribute to production APIs (FastAPI) powering internal applications.
• Quality & reliability: Design testing plans and data validation frameworks to guarantee pipeline accuracy.
• Engineering standards: Promote CI/CD, code quality, and observability across data work.
• Team collaboration: Partner with quant researchers and engineers to translate analytics needs into production solutions.
