Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with deep experience in Snowflake, ETL development, Python, and Matillion to design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions. This role will play a key part in enabling analytics, reporting, and advanced data use cases while staying ahead of emerging Snowflake capabilities, including technologies such as Snowflake Cortex.

The ideal candidate is hands‑on, technically strong, and comfortable working across the full data lifecycle—from ingestion and transformation through optimization and enablement of downstream analytics and AI‑driven use cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high‑performance data pipelines using Snowflake as the core data platform
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using Matillion and Python
• Develop reusable, well‑documented Python code for data processing, orchestration, and automation
• Optimize Snowflake performance through effective use of clustering, partitioning, warehouses, and cost‑management best practices
• Partner with analytics, data science, and business teams to translate requirements into reliable data solutions
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and governance across pipelines and datasets
• Stay current on emerging Snowflake technologies and features, including Snowflake Cortex, and evaluate opportunities for adoption
• Support advanced analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases by delivering clean, well‑modeled data
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to data platform best practices and standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline and performance issues in production environments

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands‑on experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
• 6+ years of Snowflake experience, including schema design, performance tuning, and optimization
• Strong experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines
• Advanced proficiency in Python for data engineering use cases
• Strong experience with Matillion for Snowflake‑based data integration
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas)
• Experience working with large‑scale, cloud‑based data platforms
• Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing complex queries
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in cross‑functional teams

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications

• Experience or exposure to Snowflake Cortex or other emerging Snowflake AI/ML capabilities
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience supporting analytics, BI, or data science teams
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices for data pipelines
• Experience with data governance, security, and compliance in cloud data environments
