Job summary

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• In-depth functional/industry knowledge is required.
• 10+ years of experience in hedge fund accounting, fund administration or financial operations.
• Comprehensive understanding of hedge fund operations, NAV calculations, capital activities, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of accounting standards such as IFRS or US GAAP.
• Technical skills/systems knowledge (e.g. Peoplesoft) is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of NAV calculations and financial statement preparation for hedge fund clients, acting as the primary SME and escalation point.
• Review monthly fund and business entity closing summaries and report/analyze financial data for clients.
• Close monthly books and records of funds to generate general final performance figures.
• Interact with clients and Hedge Fund Services teams to understand funds activities.
• Prepare financial statements for funds and coordinate with external auditors for annual statements.
• Mentor and recruit to build a high-performance team; operate independently with deep knowledge of the unit.

Major Duties

• Review of monthly fund and business entity closing summaries.
• Report and analyze financial data to be disseminated to our clients and their investors.
• Close monthly books and records of the funds to general final performance figures.
• Interact with clients and other Hedge Fund Services teams to obtain understanding of funds activities.
• Prepare financial statements for funds.
• Work directly with external auditors to ensure accuracy of each funds annual financial statements.
• Assist in building a high-performance team through learning, development, mentoring and recruiting.
• Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit / function.
• As subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level.
• Carries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult.
• Role is balanced between high level operational execution and development, and execution of strategic direction of business function activities.
• Strategic in developing, implementing and administering programs within functional areas.

Knowledge

Experience

• A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is preferred
• Related Industry qualification (e.g. ACCA) is preferred
