Job summary

WSP Philippines is seeking an experienced Civil Drafter to produce accurate drawings from sketches and data, while ensuring CAD standards and project quality. You will review deliverables, coordinate with engineers, and mentor junior drafters to uphold technical excellence.

The role expects strong time management across varying workloads on complex projects. We value eight years of civil drafting experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, ProjectWise, and familiarity with Civil 3D;

Qualifications

• Diploma of Engineering or Advanced Diploma of Engineering; equivalent Senior Technical Associate – CADD.
• At least eight years of civil drafting experience with high level drafting and detailing skills.
• Strong CAD software proficiency: AutoCAD, MicroStation, ProjectWise; Civil 3D is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare concise engineering drawings from sketches and design information.
• Review drawings for CAD standards and quality compliance.
• Maintain and monitor drafting deliverables, coordinating with engineering staff.
• Mentor and train junior drafters to achieve technical excellence.

What you'll do:

• Prepare concise engineering drawings from sketches and design information unassisted.
• Comply with CAD Standards and Quality Systems relevant to specialisation and location and apply techniques and procedures commonly used in that practice area and specialisation.
• Undertake reviews of engineering drawings to ensure compliance with CAD Standards and Quality Systems.
• Manage and monitor the quality of work performed by others and promote a culture of technical excellence through mentoring and training less experienced drafters.
• Fulfil Project Technician role – manage the drafting aspects of projects of varying complexity and size, including planning and controlling of deliverables, resource management and maintaining communication between engineering and drafting staff on the project.
• Possess appropriate time management skills and flexibility to allow for the management of a varying workload.
• Actively assist colleagues in achieving improved client feedback results, enhance satisfaction and exceed client expectations.
• Evaluates staff performance in line with HR procedures.
• Comply with all role specific SHEQ obligations as required.
• Perform tasks assigned by the Principal Civil Technician or Drafting Discipline Lead / RAC Discipline Lead / Transport Manila Operations Manager / Regional Team Executive in line with his experience, discipline or qualifications.

What we will love about you:

• Diploma of Engineering or Advanced Diploma of Engineering, equivalent Senior Technical Associate – CADD.
• At least eight (8) years of relevant civil drafting experience
• High level drafting and detailing skills
• High level use and understanding of CAD software and how it applies (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ProjectWise) — Prepares engineering drawing deliverables from sketches, calculations and/or specifications
• Proficiency in Civil 3D an advantage
• Exposure to different business models and industry best practice
• Preferably with experience on Australian projects
