Job summary

V2 Solutions is seeking a Senior Backend Lead to steer a team of backend engineers, audit and optimise existing products, and collaborate with the frontend team to resolve performance and security issues. The role focuses on refactoring legacy code, implementing best practices, and building reliable delivery processes.

You will evangelize backend excellence and manage tech debt while coordinating with clients on backend sprints.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend experience with leadership exposure.

Objectives and Key Results

• Lead a team of junior backend engineers/developers
• Audit and optimise existing products at Appscrip
• Work with frontend team to resolve performance and security issues
• Refactor legacy code & implement code best practices
• Build process to ensure reliability & quick deliveries
• Be the evangelist and backend-end advocate inside the company
• Resolve and minimise tech debt
• Coordinate with clients, manage and run backend sprints
• Implement agile practices & increase visibility of team via clean reporting in JIRA/Asana

Who is this for?

• Stack agnostic (Nodejs MongoDB/Elastic/Redis Python appreciated)
• Ability to design systems at scale while being cost efficient
• Should be able to configure servers, manage load balancing, autoscaling and optimise performance based on traffic
• Experience with load testing is a plus
• Should be able to unit and integration tests
• Understands limitations of monoliths and microservices based architectures
• Has worked on products/website with 1 million MAUs
• Can own, manage and optimise modules/products
• Should be able to debug and optimise using server logs, API logs, newrelic andsentry reports
• Strong DSA understanding
• Should be able to do code reviews, and ensure best practices for code & security
• Experience with CDN, CMS, SSR, SSG is an add on
• Should be able to improve code for space and time complexity
• Should be able to manage delivery
• Should be able to maintain clean swagger documentation for the APIs
• Experience with containerization is a plus
