Senior Back-end Engineer

Location: Makati City, Manila. This position requires 4 days on-site /1-day WFH per week.

The Senior Back-end Engineer is responsible for guiding the technical direction of core applications, combining hands- on engineering expertise with leadership responsibilities. This role ensures that architecture, design, and delivery standards drive scalability, performance, and quality. The Lead Software Engineer mentors developers, owns critical technical decisions, and partners with product and delivery leaders to align execution with business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience

• Solid hands- on experience with: Node.js (modern versions, including v22+ and v24), PostgreSQL (v15 or equivalent), Vue.js (Vue 3).
• Proven experience leading and mentoring software development teams.
• Strong grasp of software architecture principles (modularity, scalability, clean design).
• Ability to own technical decisions and drive quality standards across projects.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with caching technologies (e.g., Redis, Memcached).
• Experience with search and indexing solutions (e.g., Algolia, Elasticsearch, Solr).
• Familiarity with real- time communication frameworks (e.g., TalkJS, WebSockets).
• Exposure to testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Jest).
• Experience with containerization and infrastructure tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
• Knowledge of cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Background in performance optimization and scaling distributed systems.
