REED ELSEVIER SHARED SERVICES (PHILIPPINES) INC. is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (AWS) to enhance resilience and reliability of cloud platforms.

You will partner with architecture and cloud teams to design robust recovery and testing programs and to implement resilience controls across AWS environments. The role requires strong hands-on AWS expertise, experience in disaster recovery, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement, reporting into an SRE leadership team in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5 years of hands-on AWS Site Reliability Engineer experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on AWS services experience (EC2, EKS, RDS, IAM, VPC).
• 2–5 years in resilience testing and disaster recovery.
• AWS Certification preferred (e.g., Solutions Architect).
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with chaos engineering tools and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Improve resiliency, availability, and recoverability of AWS-hosted services.
• Design and validate disaster recovery and resilience strategies.
• Develop and execute resilience testing activities including failover testing.
• Evaluate architectures for single points of failure and suggest improvements.
• Support implementation of resilience controls across AWS environments.
• Collaborate with teams to embed resilience into designs and processes.
• Analyze incidents and testing outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
• Track RTO/RPO and resilience metrics to meet recovery requirements.
• Provide guidance on AWS reliability best practices and standards.
• Contribute to reusable resilience patterns across the org.
