Job summary

Maersk in Manila is seeking an experienced accounting professional to handle day-to-day accounting activities, close processes, and analysis. You will collaborate with country teams, ensure control compliance, and deliver timely financial reports and tax/audit requirements.

Ideal candidates have substantial accounting experience, strong English proficiency, JD Edwards expertise, and solid skills in Excel, Blackline, OneStream, and Oracle. Willingness to work a mid-shift schedule is required.

Qualifications

• Years of relevant accounting experience are required.
• Proficient English written and spoken communication.
• Experience with JD Edwards system is a must.
• MS Office proficiency especially Excel.
• Willingness to work in a mid-shift schedule.
• Knowledge of Blackline and OneStream for reporting/consolidation, Oracle-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities.

• Deliver monthly balance sheet review and close requirements within deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with global and local financial controls.
• Complete deliverables within SLA and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Highlight performance/process gaps and drive improvements.
• Assist others on complex issues using accounting knowledge.
• Deliver tax and audit requirements on established deadlines.
• Act as backup resource when teammates are absent.
• Conduct financial statement analysis and report operational results.
• Coordinate internal control attestation with control performers.
• Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities
• Connect with the country and other teams for relevant information and action as necessary
• Deliver financial book close requirements in a timely manner, based on set deadlines
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial controls, as determined globally and locally
• Complete deliverables and other assigned tasks within the targeted timeline and SLA, including timely response to inquiries
• Proactively highlight any performance/process gaps and room for improvement, and follow up with the relevant stakeholders
• Utilize accounting knowledge of processes and understanding of impact on other work groups to assist others on more complex issues
• Deliver tax and audit requirements on established deadlines
• Continuously seek, propose, and establish improvements in the processes handled
• Serve as a backup resource in the absence of other team members
• Perform other tasks and ad hoc activities that are deemed necessary, as assigned
• Perform monthly balance sheet review for in-scope entities region, including verifying accuracy and substantiation of all relevant accounts, and implementing appropriate action points in case of deviation from acceptable accounting principles
• Conduct financial statement analysis, coordinate with various process owners to consolidate specific accounting and tax information (as necessary), and provide reports on operational result
• Coordinate internal control attestation with relevant control performers
• Relevant additional tasks, as deemed necessary

• Must have experience on JD EDWARD system
• MS Office Proficient - Excel
• Amenable to work in Mid shift schedule
• Knowledgeable with Blackline and One Stream – Reporting and Consolidation, Oracle based
