Job summary

Cobden & Carter International in Cebu City, Philippines is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting for local entities.

The role covers closing/bookkeeping, invoicing, supplier payments, reconciliations, intercompany activity, tax declarations, and IFRS bookings, with collaboration across the finance team.

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, at least five years in accounting (shipping/energy a plus), and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in shipping or energy.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting cycles for one or more local companies (booking, lettering accounts, accounting review, accruals estimate).
• In charge of invoicing and customers' recovery.
• In charge of suppliers' payments (voucher requests).
• In charge of intercompany reconciliations and shipping/activities with End Client accounts.
• Intercompany rebilling when necessary.
• Monthly tax declarations in cooperation with local team or tax consultant.
• All accounting reconciliations (bank, intercompany, petty cash, tax, payroll, GL/PL/SL).
• Assets management (identification, depreciation calculations).
• Analytical booking preparation and recording closure bookkeeping (P&L accrual, forex re-evaluation).
• IFRS bookings in cooperation with Financial Controller.
• Prepare and compile working files for audit and reporting (monthly/quarterly).
• Assist Financial Controller with financial statements and audit queries.
