Job summary

ECLARO is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our insurance finance team in the Philippines. You will assist with all accounting activities for the Company’s insurance segments and support GAAP and STAT reporting, with emphasis on control framework design and process improvements.

The role requires solid experience in ceded reinsurance, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and financial software. You will help ensure accurate close cycles and compliant reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Over 3 years of experience in ceded reinsurance.
• Knowledge of GAAP and STAT accounting standards.
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Power BI, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly and quarterly ceded reinsurance results and analyses for internal and external reporting.
• Preparation and review of detailed journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare quarterly and annual Schedule F exhibits for the NAIC and regulatory filings.
• Oversee treaty, FAC, and proportional calculations, entries, billing, receipts, and disbursements.
• Manage the calculation, booking, billing, and collection of all ceded payable and recoverable including profit and sliding scale commissions.
• Lead and support ad hoc reporting and special projects.
• Assist in the ongoing implementation of a new ceded system.
• Drive continuous improvement in the reinsurance accounting cycle to improve close cycles, controls, and understanding.
• Maintain a strong control environment and associated documentation.

Additionally, the Senior Accountant will assist with GAAP and STAT reporting responsibilities, design and execution of the control framework, and tactical process improvement initiatives.
