Job summary

People Advantage Pte Ltd is seeking a diligent Science Lab Assistant in a primary school setting to prepare equipment, organize materials, label items and set up IT gear for each science lesson.

You will support teachers in supervising students during experiments, maintain and inventory lab items, coordinate with staff on supplies, handle administrative tasks for science events, and assist with crowd management during arrivals and dismissals.

Qualifications

• Minimum ITE qualification or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Science Lab Assistant in a primary school.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Able to organize laboratory materials and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Comfortable working with teachers and supporting primary school students.
• Responsible, organized and attentive to workplace and student safety.
• Able to handle administrative duties and work independently when required.
• Willing to support school activities and perform other assigned responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory equipment, apparatus and materials ahead of science lessons.
• Organize, label and arrange laboratory items for easy access and classroom use.
• Set up IT equipment before lessons commence.
• Support teachers in supervising students during practical laboratory activities.
• Maintain Science room equipment and ensure apparatus is kept in proper working condition.
• Update inventory records and identify damaged items for disposal.
• Coordinate with teachers on materials and supplies for science activities.
• Purchase perishable items needed for experiments when required.
• Provide administrative support for science events, surveys, forms and departmental activities.
• Assist with student crowd management during arrival, dismissal and recess periods.
• Support the Science Head of Department and teachers with other duties.
