Job summary

Xurpas Enterprise is seeking a SAP HANA DBA to manage backup/recovery, performance tuning, replication, and database design in a hybrid work setup at Uptown Place Tower, Taguig. The role requires strong troubleshooting and cloud/Linux skills to ensure high availability and optimal performance.

The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of SAP HANA experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and the ability to work across on-premises and cloud infrastructures with English communication proficiency.

• Hybrid work arrangement in Taguig, Philippines.

Responsibilities

• Perform backup/recovery from command line and SAP HANA Studio.

SAP HANA DB Administration

The core technical requirements are:

• 1. Backup and Recovery
• a. Must have experience performing backup and recovery from the command line, not just
• via SAP HANA Studio.
• 2. Performance Tuning
• a. In-depth understanding of performance tuning, including monitoring and analyzing CPU,
• memory usage, and other critical system metrics.
• a. Strong knowledge of SAP HANA database setup and configuration, including architecture,
• build process, and the ability to troubleshoot real-time issues.
• 4. Replication
• a. Practical experience with replication setup, including tools like Pacemaker, and understanding of failover mechanisms.
• 5. Infrastructure Knowledge
• a. Working knowledge of GCP (Google Cloud Platform), Converged Cloud, and Red Hat Linux.

Database Design

• 1. Propose design an optimized database in SAP HANA
• 2. Understanding of main types of tables in SAP HANA and in what situations would to use each one.

Optimization and Performance Tuning

• 3. Monitoring and identifying performance bottlenecks in a SAP HANA environment.
• 4. Difference between data compression and partitioning
• 5. Understanding of the SAP HANA handles memory and how you would adjust memory settings for better performance
• 6. Approaches to use to improve query performance in SAP HANA Installation and Configuration
• 7. Understanding the prerequisites for the installation of a SAP HANA server
• 8. Understanding of Installation of SAP HANA steps
• 9. Understanding how to configure a replica for high availability Administration and Management
• 10. Monitoring and identifying performance bottlenecks in a SAP HANA environment.
• 11. Procedures for performing backup and restore Architecture
• 12. Understanding of Main components of a typical SAP HANA installation
• 13. Understanding of platforms for SAP HANA in the cloud and on-premises
• 15. Understanding of AP HANA XS Advanced (XSA)
