About the Role
The Sales Account Officer - Foreign Exchange will be at the front line of the foreign exchange business — building relationships with clients, growing a healthy portfolio of accounts, and helping the company expand its footprint in the FX market.
Key Responsibilities
Account & Portfolio Management
- Take ownership of an assigned portfolio of client accounts, developing a clear understanding of each client's FX needs, transaction patterns, and business goals Proactively identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities within your existing accounts to deepen client engagement and grow revenue Regularly review account activity to spot trends, flag risks, and recommend the right products or pricing adjustments
Business Development & Lead Generation
- Prospect for new clients through networking, referrals, cold outreach, and market research, building a healthy and consistent sales pipeline Qualify leads and convert them into active, revenue-generating accounts through structured follow-up and relationship-building Stay on top of market conditions and competitor offerings to identify new business opportunities as they arise
Sales & Client Presentations
- Present and explain the company's foreign exchange products and services in a way that's clear, credible, and tailored to each client's needs Prepare and deliver sales pitches and proposals to prospective clients, addressing objections and closing deals professionally Educate clients on FX market movements, risk factors, and how the company's products can help them manage currency exposure
Pricing & Transaction Processing
- Negotiate FX rates directly with clients, balancing competitive pricing with the company's margin and profitability targets Accurately process, confirm, and book client orders within required timelines, minimizing errors and transaction delays Coordinate with settlements/operations teams to ensure trades are executed and settled smoothly
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure every sales activity, client onboarding step, and transaction strictly follows relevant banking laws, BSP regulations, and internal compliance policies Conduct or support due diligence and KYC requirements for new and existing clients Escalate any red flags, unusual account activity, or potential compliance issues promptly to the appropriate team
Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients, responding promptly and professionally to inquiries, concerns, and service requests Resolve client issues efficiently, coordinating with internal teams when needed to deliver timely solutions Build long-term trust and loyalty by consistently delivering a high standard of service, aiming to turn clients into repeat, long-term partners
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Track individual sales performance against targets, maintaining accurate records of client interactions, deals closed, and pipeline status Prepare regular sales and account activity reports for management review Use performance data to identify areas for improvement and adjust sales strategies accordingly
Training & Product Knowledge
- Participate in ongoing product training to stay current on the company's FX offerings, pricing structures, and market developments Help facilitate or support training sessions for new team members or colleagues as needed Continuously build personal expertise in forex markets to better advise clients and close deals confidently
Cross-Department Coordination
- Work closely with operations, compliance, risk management, and other departments to ensure client transactions are processed smoothly and on time Communicate client needs and feedback internally to help improve products, processes, and overall service delivery Support a collaborative, team-oriented environment to achieve shared sales and service goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any 4-year course
- At least 2 years of sales experience, ideally within the banking, financial services, or forex industry
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage clients at all levels
- Solid negotiation skills and comfort working with pricing and numbers
- Good understanding of (or eagerness to learn) foreign exchange products and regulatory requirements
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple accounts at once
- Team player who can coordinate effectively across departments
