Job description

About the job Sales Account Manager (BukuPay PH)

About BukuPay BukuPay is the payments arm of BukuWarung, one of Southeast Asia's leading MSME fintech platforms. Built on a proven model that has helped millions of small and medium businesses across Indonesia manage transactions, track cash flow, and grow — we're now bringing that same know-how to the Philippines together with local strategic partners.

We're at an exciting early stage in the Philippine market, which means you'll be one of the first boots on the ground, building the merchant base from scratch and shaping how BukuPay shows up in this market. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role.

BukuWarung is backed by Y-Combinator, AC Ventures, Quona Capital, East Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, Rocketship.vc, and Tanglin Venture Partners.

The Role We're looking for a commercially sharp, street-smart Sales Account Manager to own mid-market acquisition in the Philippines. Your primary targets will be local chains in F&B, retail, and services — businesses with multiple outlets that are ready to move beyond cash and fragmented POS systems.

This is a hunter role. You'll be responsible for the full sales cycle: from prospecting and pitching to deal structuring, onboarding, and early account health. You're not managing accounts from a spreadsheet — you're in the field, building relationships with owners, ops managers, and finance leads at growing local chains.

What You'll Do

  • Own a pipeline of mid-market prospects across F&B, retail, and service chains (typically 3–30 outlets)
  • Run the full sales cycle — outbound prospecting, discovery, demo, commercial negotiation, and close
  • Build relationships at the owner, GM, and ops level — not just procurement
  • Structure deals that are commercially sound for both the client and BukuPay, - with a clear grasp of MDR, pricing tiers, and margin impact
  • Drive outlet activation post-close, working closely with onboarding and ops teams to ensure merchants go live fast
  • Feed real market intelligence back to Product and Leadership — what's blocking deals, what competitors are offering, what merchants actually need
  • Represent BukuPay at the ground level and help define what a winning mid-market motion looks like in the Philippines

Who You Are

  • 3-4 years in B2B sales, business development, or account management — ideally in fintech, payments, SaaS, or F&B/retail tech
  • Proven track record closing and activating multi-outlet or chain clients
  • You understand sales economics — MDR, interchange, pricing structures, margin conversations don't intimidate you
  • Hunter mentality: you're comfortable with a cold pipeline and know how to build one fast
  • Fluent in both owner-level and ops-level conversations — you adapt your pitch depending on who's in the room
  • Highly organized, metrics-driven, and honest about your pipeline
  • Based in Metro Manila and willing to spend time on field across key locations

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with QRPh, InstaPay, or POS integrations
  • Exposure to franchise systems, F&B chains, or retail rollouts
  • Experience running merchant pilots or phased activations at scale
  • Existing network among mid-market F&B, services or retail operators in the Philippines
