AboitizPower is seeking an Occupational Health and Safety professional to lead on-site safety for the ARI PE project and EPC contractors. You will monitor standards, ensure permits, and liaise with regulators and the Legal department to prevent violations while reporting to SHES management.

Responsibilities include inspections, data analysis, and implementation of improvements, with drills, investigations, and clear communication to stakeholders to uphold our safety goals.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or nursing or related field.
• At least five years’ experience in a related field, with two years in a project context.

Responsabilidades

• Manages occupational health and safety units through monitoring and validation of activities by the ARI PE project team and EPC contractors.
• Reviews OSH standards and communicates with regulators and Legal to avoid notices of violation.
• Ensures renewal of OSH permits and licenses by contractors and compliance teams, monitoring to avoid fines.
• Checks effectiveness of OSH programs via inspection, audit and validation of implementation.
• Updates OSH activities to management through regular reporting and cascaded communications.
• Coordinates with other teams to address OSH non-compliance issues.
• Prepares OSH plans, incident reports and improvement measures; analyzes OSH data against standards.
• Implements OSH programs aligned with corporate goals; supports regulatory initiatives.
• Optimizes OSH budget to meet project requirements and participates in project planning meetings.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Manages the occupational health and safety units through constant monitoring, checking and validation of activities done by the ARI PE project team and the EPC contractor/s
• Regularly reviews OSH standards and communicates with OSH regulators and the Legal department to avoid Notice of Violation.
• Ensures renewal of OSH permits and licenses by the contractor and Stakeholder Relation Compliance team and constantly monitors to avoid fines and penalties.
• Checks and monitors the effectiveness of OSH management programs through inspection, audit and validation if properly implemented.
• Maintains constant updating of OSH activities to Management through regular reporting to ensure that OSH activities are communicated.
• Coordinates with other functional teams through written and verbal communications to address OSH non-compliance issues.
• Coordinates and report to the PDE SHES Management team all related issues and concerns and ensures cascade of instructions down to the EPC contractors.
• Prepares summary of OSH Plans, Programs, incident reports, accomplishment reports and apply mitigation/ innovations to succeeding programs.
• Analyzes OSH data by comparing with standards and recommending action plans.
• Recommends, plans and implements OSH programs that are in line with the corporate goal of attaining World Class Status.
• Ensures participation and support to the initiatives of government regulators to maintain the good reputation of the company.
• Optimizes Project Team OSH budget to comply with the requirements of the project.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by his/her immediate superior.
• Prepares and submits regular regulatory required reports.
• Ensures that security protocol is implemented on site as well as monitoring the security performance of the general contractor (EPC).
• Implements the following Construction Responsibilities:
• Continuous inspection of project sites, to ensure a hazard-free environment
• Assessment and evaluation of contractor safety plans, including Job Hazard Analysis, Task Risk Analysis, Permit to Work, etc
• Verification of tools and equipment to ensure good quality
• Promoting safe practices on site
• Ensures that general contractor to conduct drills and exercises on managing emergency situations
• Conducts Investigations on accidents and high potential near miss incidents.
• Ensures that the project team and general contractor occupational safety and health issues/concerns are attended to.
• Facilitates and assists DOLE-mandated evaluations of the site
• Ensures that the general contractor (EPC) prepared the construction health and safety plan
• Attending project planning meetings and collaborating with construction managers

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in BS Engineering or BS Nursing, or any related course
• At least five [5] years of experience in a related field, with at least two [2] years of project related experience.

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Proficiency in OSH Compliance, OSH Laws and Regulations, and OSH Permits and Licensing.
• Strong skills in Interpersonal and Communication, Project Management, Analysis, and Computer Skills.
