Job summary

SoftServe is seeking an experienced robotics systems architect to lead end-to-end design across mobile robots, robotic arms, drones, and AMRs. You will define scalable architectures and integrate hardware with cloud platforms while guiding cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready systems.

The role requires deep knowledge of SLAM, sensor fusion, and real-time computing, plus hands-on ROS2 and MoveIt2 experience. Collaboration with AI, cloud, and embedded groups is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in robotics system architecture and end-to-end solution design.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python for production-grade robotics software.
• Hands-on ROS2 experience and capability to define standards.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical architecture for complex robotics solutions across domains (mobile robots, robotic arms, drones, AMRs).
• Design scalable, reusable integration frameworks connecting robotics systems with cloud platforms and enterprise ecosystems.
• Lead end-to-end delivery from prototyping to production-ready systems.
• Establish architectural standards, design patterns, and best practices across robotics teams.
• Evaluate, select, and evolve technologies within the robotics stack.
• Drive research in emerging robotics trends and translate insights into practical decisions.
• Architect perception, SLAM, planning, control, and multi-robot coordination systems.
• Ensure hardware-software integration for sensors, actuators, RTOS, and EC components.
• Oversee simulation and validation using Isaac Sim, Gazebo, or similar.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals.

In this role, you will join a long-term initiative in collaboration with a globally recognized industry leader. The project focuses on advancing physical AI and multi-fleet management systems, aimed at significantly enhancing the performance and efficiency of outdoor vehicles.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of robotics, AI, and real-world hardware, where solutions go beyond simulation into practical application. The team is involved not only in building new capabilities but also in retrofitting existing systems with intelligent components, bringing innovation to already deployed equipment.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical architecture for complex robotics solutions across domains (mobile robots, robotic arms, drones, AMRs)

• Architect perception, SLAM, planning, control, and multi-robot coordination systems
• Ensure integration of hardware and software, including sensors, actuators, real-time systems, and electromechanical components
• Oversee simulation and validation using tools such as Isaac Sim, Gazebo, or similar
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AI, cloud, embedded, product) to align technical solutions with business goals

Requirements

• Proven experience in robotics system architecture and end-to-end solution design
• Expert proficiency in C++ and/or Python, building production-grade robotics software
• Strong experience with ROS2, including defining standards and best practices
• Hands-on experience across robotics domains (mobile robots, arms, drones, autonomous systems)
• Deep knowledge of SLAM, sensor fusion (LiDAR, IMU, vision, radar, GPS), localization, mapping, and motion planning (e.g., MoveIt2)
• Experience with simulation environments (Isaac Sim, Gazebo, or similar)
• Strong background in control systems, real-time computing, and hardware-software co-design
• Familiarity with cloud and IoT ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including deployment pipelines
• Knowledge of industrial/embedded ecosystems (ARM, STM32, RTOS, PLC, SCADA)
• Strong analytical and systems-thinking mindset with solid mathematical foundations
• Excellent communication skills, including presenting to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven experience in technical pre-sales (solution design, workshops, client engagement)
• Leadership experience, mentoring engineers, and guiding technical direction
