Job summary

Asian Development Bank (ADB) invites applications for the Reward Specialist role based at our Manila headquarters in the Philippines. Relocation is required and all reasonable relocation expenses will be covered.

You will lead the Reward, HR & Health Services Division’s HR services, ensuring policy exceptions are reviewed and aligned with clear criteria. You will manage the Employee Lifecycle and HR Service Desk teams, drive digitization of HR records, and maintain ServiceNow knowledge articles.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business or Public Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Economics, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Minimum 6 years relevant experience in various facets of human resource management, with international experience working in several countries, preferably in international development finance institutions or multinational organizations.
  • Preferably affiliated with and/or certified/accredited by recognized professional HR related associations such as CIPD, IPMA, ASTD, etc.
  • International experience of working in organizations with staff in multiple countries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Employee Lifecycle team in managing effectively the processes related to the onboarding of new staff, the relocation of current staff, and the offboarding of staff who are leaving ADB.
  • Oversee the provision of staff certifications where they are requested, ensuring that the information is accurate, and the certifications are provided within agreed service level agreement schedule.
  • Ensure that communications to staff relating to the employee lifecycle processes are clear and complete, and that the administration of all tasks are managed efficiently and accurately.
  • Liaise with the Reward Policy team to ensure that any exceptions requested to policies are consistently and robustly reviewed with decisions made being based on clear criteria and thorough assessment.
  • Oversee the systems and tools in place that support the employee lifecycle processes, leading projects related to enhancements where applicable.
  • Manage the HR Service Desk team to ensure that queries from staff are responded to effectively.
  • Lead the ongoing development of the HR Service Desk to continually improve the service levels, including the development of the digitization of HR records.
  • Ensure that knowledge articles within the ServiceNow platform remain accurate and up to date.
  • Manage Employee Lifecycle and HR Service Desk teams, supervising the work of team members.
  • Supervise the performance of reporting staff, providing clear direction and regular monitoring and feedback on performance.
  • Ensure the on-going learning and development of reporting staff.
  • Handle complex or unconventional policy and process related questions and problems from clients and colleagues as they arise.

Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

The position of Reward Specialist is assigned to the Reward, HR & Health Services Division (BPRS) within the Budget, People, and Management Services Department (BPMSD). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines and relocation is required. All reasonable relocation expenses will be covered. You will report to Director, BPRS and will oversee junior team members.

Your Role

As a Reward Specialist, you will manage and lead the HR Services team which focuses on employee lifecycle processes, ensure that reward and HR policies and processes are managed appropriately, and the HR Service Desk team to effectively manage staff queries, ensuring that service level agreements are being met. You will also contribute effectively to broader HR and business initiatives, in particular on reward-related aspects; and will also be responsible for ensuring that exceptions to policies are consistently and appropriately applied, which will require liaising with the Reward Policy team and other HR colleagues.

You will:

Employee Lifecycle process management

Additional Information

This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.

This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial fixed period of 3 years. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may, at the option of ADB, be extended once for up to 2 years, converted to a regular appointment, or ended on its expiration date. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB that: (a) it will require Staff's particular blend of skills and experience in the foreseeable future; and (b) Staff's performance is satisfactory and they are suitable for further employment.
