Job summary

Surbana Jurong is seeking an experienced Dam Engineering professional to lead site supervision, quality control, and project execution for dam works in the Philippines. The role requires deep expertise in dam construction, design interpretation, and risk management.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree in geotechnical, hydraulic, or water resources engineering with 10–15 years in dam projects and at least 5 years as a Resident Engineer or equivalent on site.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in geotechnical, hydraulic or water resources engineering is preferred.
• 10–15 years of professional experience in dam engineering projects.
• At least 5 years as Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, or Construction Supervision Engineer for dam works.

Responsibilities

• Supervise contractor activities on dam projects and oversee quality control/QA programs.
• Oversee construction methods, sequencing, and temporary works to ensure safety and compliance.
• Review and interpret design drawings, specifications, and technical reports; monitor progress and document issues.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Dam Engineering professional with the following qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or Water Resources (preferred)
• Minimum 10–15 years of professional experience in dam engineering projects.
• At least 5 years as Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, or Construction Supervision Engineer for dam works
• Proven experience in one or more of the following:

Key project components include:

• Concrete gravity dams, embankment dams, or RCC dams
• Spillways, intake structures, outlet works, and diversion tunnels
• Foundation treatment (grouting, cutoff walls, drainage systems)

Experience supervising:

• Contractor’s construction activities
• Quality control and quality assurance programs
• Construction methods, sequencing, and temporary works

• Experience in hydropower or multipurpose dam projects is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of: Dam construction methods and materials; Geotechnical and hydraulic engineering principles; Dam safety requirements and risk management
• Ability to review and interpret design drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Excellent site supervision and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of dam safety requirements, construction monitoring, and instrumentation.
• Competence in progress monitoring, reporting, and documentation.
• Proficient in engineering software and MS Office applications.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple site issues simultaneously.
