A prominent financial institution in Metro Manila is seeking a Research Officer to assist in risk management and comprehensive study reviews. The ideal candidate must have a degree in Economics, Finance or a related field, with at least one year of experience in research or finance. Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office are essential. The role involves maintaining the research database and distributing tasks among analysts. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to credit risk mitigation efforts.
The Research Officer under the Market Research Unit (MRU) shall primarily assist the MRU Head in reviewing assigned comprehensive studies, such as the Sovereign Risk Reports, and ad hoc tasks that have been identified by management as reports that could aid in mitigating the Bank's exposure to credit risk. The MRU Research Officer shall also be responsible for the distribution of Sovereign Risk Report assignments to the Research Analysts to ensure that tasks are fairly distributed. The MRU Research Officer shall also assist the Unit Head and the Credit and Market Research Department (CMRD) Head in ensuring that all committed deliverables are fulfilled by CMRD. The MRU Research Officer is also tasked with reviewing the contents of the statistical database of the Unit to ensure that the data are accurate and up to date. He/She will also be given the responsibility of maintaining the online repository of MRU's reports via Microsoft365 applications. The MRU Research Officer shall participate in the credit‑related training activities of Human Resource Group (HRG).
Economics/Finance/Business Economics graduate or any related business course
At least one (1) year experience in research- or finance-related work.
Highly familiar with business and economic principles as well as industry and competition analysis; genuine interest in research as a career; leadership and critical thinking skills should be highly evident; attentive to deadlines and targets; good communication skills (i.e. able to communicate technical - business and economic - information to non‑technical audiences); proficient in basic MS Office applications (i.e. MSWord, MSExcel, and MSPowerpoint, Microsoft365 applications); knowledge of basic statistical analysis and tools; highly organized; willing to do field research; self‑motivated.
