Somewhere is seeking an experienced U.S. Tax Accountant / Tax Return Preparer to handle the technical production of U.S. tax returns.

This remote role requires reviewing source documents, preparing returns (1040, 1120-S, 1065) and supporting workpapers, with the founder focusing on final review and client relationships.

Ideal candidates have 3-5+ years of U.S. tax prep, strong 1040 experience, and proficiency with TaxDome, QuickBooks Online, and tax software.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of hands-on U.S. tax preparation experience.
• Strong Form 1040 experience.
• Experience with U.S. business returns.
• 1120-S and/or 1065 experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare U.S. federal returns, primarily Form 1040.
• Prepare business returns (1120-S, 1065) and schedules.
• Review client documentation for completeness and consistency.
• Identify missing or potentially problematic information.
• Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers.
• Research and flag technical tax issues.
• Prepare completed returns for founder review.
