Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst for a fully remote role, supporting a Mexico-based deployment. The role focuses on threat detection, incident response, and security governance across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will develop and enforce security policies, implement tools like SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with IT and development teams. A strong security certification background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in information security with focus on threat analysis and incident response.
• Expertise with SIEM tools (Splunk/ELK), IDS/IPS, firewalls and vulnerability management platforms.
• Strong understanding of networks, OS (Windows/Linux) and cloud security principles (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Scripting experience (Python, Bash) for automation is desirable.
• Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Analyze security alerts, logs and network traffic to identify threats.
• Develop and maintain security policies and standards.
• Design, implement and manage security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, EPP).
• Conduct security assessments, pen testing and vulnerability scans.
• Respond to incidents with investigation, containment and recovery.
• Mentor junior analysts and collaborate with IT and Dev teams.
• Stay updated on cybersecurity trends and prepare security posture reports.
