BruntWork is seeking a full-time, permanent work-from-home Medical Billing Specialist to join our Submissions team. The role emphasizes accurate claim submission, identifying errors, and prompt communication with providers.

Responsibilities include reviewing claims for completeness, transmitting via billing software, auditing records, and following up on rejected claims; 2 years of US medical billing experience and strong Excel/Word skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-year college degree required.
• 2 years US medical billing experience or related billing in behavioral health preferred.
• Must have backup power supply and reside near coworking space.
• Detail oriented with above-average organizational skill.
• Able to plan and prioritize to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; clear and effective.
• Excellent reading comprehension.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong internet navigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review claims for completeness and accuracy before submission.
• Transmit electronic and paper claims using billing software.
• Audit medical records to ensure services billed are supported by documentation.
• Follow up on rejected claims daily.
• Stay on top of providers needing enrollment for submissions to be successful.
• Follow through on rejected claims until resolved.
• Update team leader on recurring issues.
• Attend weekly team meetings and complete assigned to-dos.
• Other duties as assigned.
