Job summary

Twilio seeks a remote-friendly engineer to evolve compute infrastructure, collaborating with a global team to enhance scalable cloud-native environments and VM orchestration. You will implement secure container images, hardened AMIs, and automation across deployments.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in AWS, strong ASG, Java or Python, and proficiency with IaC tooling. The role emphasizes on-call support, documentation, and Agile delivery in a remote-first setup.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in AWS Cloud infrastructure management.
• Strong ASG (Auto Scaling Groups) knowledge to design scalable environments.
• Experience with hardened base AMIs.
• Proficiency in Java or Python.
• Shell scripting to automate tasks.
• Knowledge of container-based applications/services.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (GitHub, Buildkite, Terraform, ArgoCD).
• Experience with SLOs/SLAs and monitoring (DataDog/Prometheus).
• Exposure to FIM tools (Falco) and compliance awareness (PCI, SOX).
• Experience with Claude AI or similar.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Tech Leaders and Engineers to develop scalable distributed infrastructure solutions.
• Automate monitoring, performance, planning, and disaster recovery tasks.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical infrastructure.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code standards to ensure quality deployments.
• Document designs, runbooks, and changes clearly for traceability.
• Apply Agile methodologies to deliver value to customers.
• Act as point of contact for legacy and new Compute components.
