The project focuses on producing watertight STEP models and rigorous validation of geometry and physical properties. This fully remote contractor position is open to candidates based in the Philippines and offers flexible scheduling with about 15 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Strong Python programming ability.
• Hands-on experience with 3D CAD or computational geometry.
• Ability to interpret dimensioned engineering drawings and schematics.
• Strong 3D spatial reasoning and attention to geometric precision.
• Experience validating or troubleshooting CAD models.

Responsibilities

• Interpret dimensions and geometric relationships from technical drawings.
• Translate 2D schematics into accurate 3D mechanical models.
• Decompose complex components into appropriate geometric features.
• Model curved profiles, sweeps, lofts, fillets, chamfers, and Boolean operations.
• Use Python to generate or automate CAD geometry.
• Export valid, watertight solid models in formats such as STEP.
• Validate dimensions, topology, volume, surface area, and inertia properties.
• Diagnose subtle differences between expected and generated geometry.
