Job summary

Qubel Group is seeking a Philippines-based AI Engineer to build and maintain production-grade applications for a South African technology partner. This hands-on role involves full-stack development, AI-powered workflow automations, and integration with existing platforms.

You will own projects from architecture to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement, with a focus on robust backend services, secure code, and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience building and shipping full‑stack applications.
• Experience maintaining production systems, not just proofs of concept.
• Strong backend skills with Python or Node.js/TypeScript.
• Frontend experience with React/Next.js or similar.
• Hands-on experience integrating generative AI into production apps.
• Experience with AI platforms like OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy complete applications including backend services, APIs, databases, and UI.
• Integrate apps with internal systems, third-party platforms, and data sources.
• Build generative AI capabilities and model orchestration.
• Create workflow automations using tools like n8n or event‑driven architectures.
• Evaluate LLMs for quality, cost, privacy, and latency.
• Set up logging, error tracking, monitoring, and alerts; improve reliability.
• Write secure, tested, well-documented code; work with AI coding tools in workflow.
