Fluence seeks an APAC Tax Manager to lead tax compliance and optimization for Philippines, Taiwan, and Japan, collaborating with APAC Finance and Global Tax teams. The role will expand to other jurisdictions within 12 months and requires hands-on tax expertise.

You will manage audits, tax rulings, risk assessments, and monitor regulatory changes, while supporting regional projects. A CPA with 8+ years of experience and strong Excel skills is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight (8) years tax experience in Big 4 or corporate tax in an MNC.
• University degree with concentration in finance/accounting.
• Certified Public Accountant with experience dealing with tax authorities.
• Strong team player with flexibility.
• Ability to thrive in a performance-focused environment.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and data analysis.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE POSITION :

The Regional Tax Manager will be a member of the APAC Finance team and will report directly to the APAC Tax Director and work in close collaboration with the APAC Finance and Global Tax teams. This role will be responsible for all tax related matters for Fluence Philippines, Taiwan and Japan and provide support to APAC tax functions for regional projects / initiatives as directed by the Senior Tax Director - APAC.

We are looking for a motivated regional tax professional with knowledge of a variety of tax types across APAC. As the APAC Tax Manager, you will handle the following key areas:

• Tax Compliance - Lead completion of tax compliance needs for Philippines, Taiwan, Japan - must have scope to expand to other jurisdictions within 12 months.
• Tax Advocacy - Manage tax audits and assessments, including tax cases filed in the Tax Courts.
• Tax Risk Management - Manage tax risks and take advantage of tax opportunities. This includes promoting tax awareness, initiating continued improvements to internal controls over processes with tax impact and providing timely tax advice on an ad-hoc basis.
• Other Regional Tax support - Provide support to APAC tax functions and on all tax related matters for regional projects / initiatives, as needed, including monitoring of legislative and regulatory tax law developments, US income tax provisioning process
• Controllership support for Philippines - extend support to Philippine finance lead on controllership function for Philippines

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Minimum of eight (8) years tax experience, either as a tax professional in a Big 4 tax department or a corporate tax department in an MNC, has international tax exposure
• Business or equivalent University degree with a concentration in finance/accounting
• Certified Public Accountant with actual experience in dealing with tax authorities.
• Strong team player demonstrating maximum flexibility
• Ability to thrive in a performance-focused and results-oriented environment
• Must have advanced knowledge of excel and the ability and curiosity to analyse and filter data.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of US GAAP including ASC 740.
• Understanding of transfer pricing principles.
• Knowledge of SAP4/HANA a big advantage.
• Energy or energy storage business knowledge is an advantage
• Ideally high energy, proactive, solutions-oriented contributor, possessing an intellectual curiosity and a \"hunger for knowledge.\"
