Job summary

SoftwareOne seeks a Regional General Counsel CEE to lead the Legal function across the Central & Eastern Europe region. You will serve as trusted legal adviser to regional leadership, guiding governance, compliance, and risk management while enabling sustainable growth across multiple jurisdictions.

You will oversee complex customer, vendor, and technology agreements, data privacy, and AI regulation, collaborating with global stakeholders to align legal strategy with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Full qualification as a lawyer in a CEE jurisdiction.
• Senior in-house legal experience in international business; experience in a top international law firm is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead and develop legal teams across multiple jurisdictions.
• Expertise in commercial contracting, corporate governance, compliance, data privacy, AI regulation, and dispute management.
• Experience in technology, software, cloud, or IT services industry is advantageous.
• Commercially minded with sound judgment, high integrity, and ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the CEE Legal function and regional legal team.
• Advise regional management on strategic initiatives, organizational change, and business growth opportunities.
• Review, negotiate, and structure complex customer, vendor, partner, and technology agreements.
• Oversee litigation, corporate governance, entity management, legal reporting, and engagement with external counsel across the region.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, including data protection and AI regulations.
• Support selected compliance trainings.
• Identify emerging legal risks and translate them into practical business guidance and mitigation.

As our new Regional General Counsel CEE, you will lead the Legal function across the CEE region and serve as the trusted legal adviser to regional leadership. You will help enable sustainable growth through practical, risk-based legal guidance while maintaining high standards of governance, compliance, and ethical business conduct. Working closely with regional and global stakeholders, you will develop and enhance legal operations and support business success across multiple jurisdictions (CEE comprises Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine).

What we need to see from you

• Full qualification as a lawyer in a CEEjurisdictionand substantial post-qualification experience
