Position Overview
The Director of Client Operations oversees client success and operational excellence across the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) department. This role leads a team of Client Operations Managers to maximize service collectability, drive reimbursement strategies, ensure compliance, and maintain high client satisfaction. The Director is responsible for strategic leadership, operational oversight, and fostering a high-performing team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead region-wide RCM initiatives from ideation to execution, including planning, resource allocation, and outcomes tracking.
- Ensure revenue cycle operations meet quality standards and organizational objectives.
- Analyze revenue performance, provide actionable insights, and improve KPIs such as collections, A/R aging, DSO, and quality metrics.
- Oversee accurate and timely billing, payment posting, and collection activities for all surgical center accounts.
- Serve as the primary liaison with facility clients and Regional Managed Care departments.
- Coordinate internal and external audits related to revenue cycle functions.
- Maintain and monitor AR, cash/net revenue, credit balances, and financial goals.
- Drive continuous improvement in revenue cycle operations and implement key strategies through the leadership team.
- Communicate trends, issues, resolutions, and opportunities to clients proactively.
- Develop expertise in client specifics, regional payer trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, including Medicare regulations.
- Mentor, train, and empower Client Operations Managers to enhance team performance and client satisfaction.
- Serve as interim revenue cycle leader for centers as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of RCM management experience, preferably in a multi-specialty group, Ambulatory Surgical Center, or outpatient hospital.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to implement organizational strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of revenue cycle processes, health insurance, and government programs.
- Proven analytical skills and ability to develop systems for financial control.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management and operational implementation experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel for reports and data analysis.
- Technologically adept, with experience collaborating with IT to automate revenue cycle processes.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
