Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to lead the design and implementation of fire detection and protection systems. You will provide ground-up mechanical support for railway and infrastructure projects, working with CAD, BIM tools and cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity and compliance with codes.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering background, 5+ years in fire protection design, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Masters degree is an advantage but not required.
Five years of experience in fire protection design engineering.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Solidworks and Rhino.
Knowledge of Fire Protection, Suppression and Alarm systems, HVAC.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities; time management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Implement conceptual and detailed project design for fire detection and protection.
Provide ground up mechanical support for sustainable railway and infrastructure efforts.
Collaborate with various fields to determine applications and requirements.
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with requirements.
Plan and execute mechanical designs using CAD/CAM; produce optimal designs.
Prepare technical reports, design specifications and operating manuals.
