Job summary

Surbana Jurong is seeking an experienced QC Civil Engineer in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, to ensure civil works meet approved drawings, specifications and quality plans. The role requires 5+ years of QA/QC experience, strong knowledge of materials, testing, documentation and quality management systems.

The candidate will review drawings and ITPs, coordinate with laboratories, prepare ITPs, and lead NCR processes to maintain quality across earthworks, foundations, structural works and finishing trades

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Civil QA/QC.
• Experience with a main contractor, EPC contractor, developer or construction company preferred.
• Experience in building construction, commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect civil construction activities for compliance with drawings, specs, method statements, and quality standards.
• Inspect earthwork, PCC/RCC, reinforcement, foundations, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, flooring and tiling, external works.
• Review drawings, specs, ITPs, and checklists; prepare Inspection & Test Plans and inspection procedures.
• Raise and close Inspection Requests (IRs) with consultants/clients.
• Coordinate with laboratories for testing concrete, soil, aggregates, steel, bricks, waterproofing materials; monitor sampling and tests.
• Ensure documentation and traceability of test reports and inspection records; maintain NCRs and ensure corrective actions.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced QC Civil Engineer with 5+ years of experience in quality control and quality assurance for civil construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all civil works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project quality plans, applicable standards, and company requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of construction materials, inspection procedures, testing, documentation, and quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect all civil construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality standards.
• Conduct inspections of: Earthwork and excavation PCC and RCC works Reinforcement and shuttering Foundations and structural works Masonry and blockwork Plastering and finishing works Waterproofing works Flooring and tiling External development and civil works
• Review construction drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and checklists.
• Prepare and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and inspection procedures.
• Raise and close Inspection Requests (IRs) in coordination with consultants/client representatives.
• Conduct material inspections and verify materials against approved specifications and material submittals.
• Coordinate with third-party laboratories for testing of concrete, soil, aggregates, steel, bricks/blocks, waterproofing materials, etc.
• Monitor concrete sampling, cube testing, slump tests, and other required site tests.
• Ensure proper documentation and traceability of test reports and inspection records.
• Identify non-conforming work/materials and raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) where required.
• Follow up on corrective and preventive actions and ensure timely closure of NCRs.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the project.
• Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and project management teams to resolve quality-related issues.
• Verify that approved materials and construction methods are being used at site.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
• Maintain records of inspection requests, test reports, material approvals, NCRs, and quality documentation.
• Participate in quality audits and site inspections.
• Assist in preparation and implementation of project Quality Assurance / Quality Control plans.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IS Codes, ASTM standards, project specifications, and relevant construction standards.
• Provide technical guidance to site teams to prevent recurring quality issues.
• Support project handover by ensuring all quality documentation and inspection records are complete.
