The Role: Quality Assurance Data Operation Specialist (QA Data Specialist)

The Team:

The Quality Assurance Team within the Global Index Management & Production Group (IMPG).

The Impact:

The QA team seeks a Data Specialist to support the Index Management & Production Group (IMPG) with a primary focus on the Asia regions. The role involves designing and implementing validation checks for data produced and published by S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) across multiple asset classes, including Equity, Commodities, Multi-Asset, and Fixed Income. As an independent verification unit, the team ensures data accuracy and integrity across global markets.

What is in it for you?

As a QA Data Specialist, you will execute global real-time quality assurance checks to verify index calculation consistency before client delivery. In this role, you will also design, maintain, and enhance QA validation processes to support evolving business needs. You'll be part of a diverse international team spanning China, Philippines, India, Mexico, and the US. This position offers extensive exposure to S&P DJI's global operations through regular interaction with Index Managers and Senior Business Leaders worldwide.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute and validate real-time QA checks on Equity and Fixed Income index rebalances to ensure accuracy and integrity of index values before these are distributed to clients
  • Design, maintain, and enhance existing QA validation processes used by Global Index Production teams
  • Support operations primarily in Asia region, including new processes testing and root cause analysis investigations
  • Update records triggered by internal checks or external requests and complete several daily QA tasks.
  • Build and nurture key relationships across departments, particularly with ICAD and Index Management groups
What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Mathematics, Economics, IT, or Finance preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, asset classes and company fundamentals
  • Basic programming skills, preferably in Python, for coding and automation of calculation models
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities to solve non-routine problems in a timely and insightful manner
  • Strong problem-solving, time-management, attention to detail, and organizational abilities for efficient team collaboration
  • Experience with Power Automate and PowerApps, particularly for SharePoint site interactions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take ownership, collaborate effectively, and manage projects independently
