Job description

Help strengthen a robust control environment by improving the quality and consistency of employee expense processing. In this role, you will identify trends, uncover root causes, and partner with global teams to raise standards through clear insights and practical coaching. You will bring strong judgment, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset to help reduce defects and enhance compliance. Your work will directly support accurate reporting, strong governance, and a consistent employee experience.

As a Quality Analyst in the Expense Processing team, you independently execute quality audits of employee expense processing to validate policy compliance, identify control gaps, and drive remediation. You will perform risk-based testing, analyze defect trends and root causes, and provide actionable insights to improve quality and consistency across regions.

Job responsibilities
  • Independently perform quality audits of employee expenses created or reviewed by expense processing teams to validate compliance with expense policies and exception procedures.
  • Review travel and entertainment expenses within the expense management system to confirm accuracy, completeness, approvals, business purpose, supporting documentation, and correct categorization.
  • Execute risk-based sampling and testing, prioritizing higher-risk populations (e.g., exceptions, high-value claims, sensitive categories, repeat issues) to ensure adequate audit coverage.
  • Identify, document, and escalation unusual or questionable transactions through established governance channels to strengthen the control framework and support policy compliance.
  • Assess quality and consistency of reviewer decisions (approve/return/reject/exception handling) and highlight gaps, inconsistencies, and training needs across regions.
  • Own audit issue management end-to-end by logging findings, aligning on remediation actions, tracking timely closure, and maintaining evidence of resolution.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reporting (e.g., quality scores, defect rates, thematic insights, root-cause analysis) and recommend actionable improvements to leaders.
  • Partner with managers to align quality standards, audit approach, and benchmarks; share best practices and support global standardization initiatives.
  • Provide structured feedback, guidance, and coaching to regional teams based on audit outcomes to improve accuracy and support consistent policy interpretation.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives related to expense governance, control enhancements, and system or process changes.
  • Maintain complete and compliant audit documentation to support governance reviews and quality assurance expectations.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain findings clearly and handle policy-related conversations professionally.
  • Ability to review and validate expense transactions and supporting documentation in line with established policies and procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel and data management skills.
  • Strong client service mindset and responsiveness, with sound judgment and the ability to elevate issues appropriately and promptly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver work to agreed timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause identification skills.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders and develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong attention to detail with effective organization skills and the ability to prioritize work efforts.
  • Experience in expense management, quality assurance, audit, controls, or operational risk.
